In order to keep up with the Jones’, as my mother would say, Verizon has created the
BlackBerry Storm: the first BlackBerry touch screen that, as of press time, has been
released as of Oct. 8th. It was only a matter of time before Verizon created a phone
trendy enough to compete with Apple’s iPhone. Verizon has stepped up to give Apple a
run for their money; after all Apple can’t be the only ones living in touch screen glory.

Traveling around the world at a moment’s notice? Packing the kids and Spike, the
family dog, to visit grandma who lives on the other side of the world? No worries. This
9500 serious touch is a hybrid device with CDMA EV-DO Rev.C and GSM HSPA for
international traveling. The Storm could come equipped with a 4G LTE component.
Although everyone might wish they had that all access granted pass to purchase the
Storm, Verizon customers have one up on the rest of us considering how this
BlackBerry touch is exclusive to Verizon and Vodafone users only. Verizon and Vodafone
will have the same unit. For the first time, Verizon will be allowed to hold onto their
worldwide lifetime exclusivity as long as sales meet quota. If Verizon can’t make sales
happen, best believe the privilege of being the only sellers will be snatched from
underneath them before they even realize what happened.

As of press time, the word is providers in European countries will be releasing the
same phone as the Blackberry Thunder with a slightly different design.  The Storm's full
touch screen has only four physical keys: the send key, end key, the BlackBerry menu
and the back key. So if you like the Storm's style and you're not a Verizon customer, as
intuitive, innovative and engaging as this phone is, you might want to consider switching
from the rest to what many will say is the best...at least for now.
